This year István Ráth presented a new, web-ready collaborative modeling technology, called MONDO Collaboration Framework at EclipseCon Europe 2016. The technology has been developed in the framework of MONDO project, an international research cooperation aiming to tackle the increasingly important challenge of scalability in Model-driven Engineering (MDE) by developing the theoretical foundations and an open-source cloud-based platform for scalable modeling and model management.
Our approach is a combination of traditional file-oriented version control systems such as Git and model repositories such as CDO. The new idea is semantic collaboration, a technology where fine-grained access control and obfuscation rules can be applied on the attribute/reference level, while still maintaining full compatibility with existing file-oriented tools. Our goal is to submit this project to Eclipse.org therefore, we are looking for interested parties and contributors. If you are interested, please contact us!
