Those who visited Ericsson demos at Researchers’ Night could check out our model train layout, that is a model-based demonstrator for smart and safe systems (MoDeS3). The railway system has embedded safety-critical functions in order to guarantee the safe operation. Sensors detect any dangerous situation and intercept when necessary, ensuring no accidents can happen.

Visitors could test these functions and the exhibition gave insight into the operation of distributed real-time systems and the benefits of model-based software development.

The presented MoDeS3 project has been implemented by the Fault Tolerant Systems Research Group at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and sponsored by, among others, IncQuery Labs.
